Happy Are “The Piecemakers”

No, that’s not a typo in the title.  Indeed, I am referring to “piecemakers” and not “peacemakers”.  This article is about a group of quilters in Louisiana.

Quilters are generous people, and they love to help others.  Many times they accomplish this by donating quilts to people in need.  For example, this could be giving quilts to families who have lost their homes in disasters. Additionally, they might donate them to homeless people, or to orphanages, just to name a few other needy causes.

There is a group of women in Louisiana who do just this.  They call themselves “The Piecemakers”.   They are a group of quilters that meets weekly to make quilts to donate to those in need. Furthermore, they have made this work their ministry. Read more about this group in an article published by television channel WBRZ 2 in Watson, Louisiana.

In addition to the quilters in Louisiana, there is a like-minded group of women in Dickinson, North Dakota.  In similar fashion, they are also doing the same type of charitable work.  Read about them in an article published by KFYR TV in Bismarck, ND.

Without a doubt, just these two groups alone help hundreds of needy people every year. As I mentioned above, quilters are generous people, and they love to share their craft.  I’m sure you must know of other such groups where you live.  Mention them in the Comments section below.  Cookies are disabled, and your name and email address will not be published.
