What to Do with Fabric Scraps

scraps of colourful fabric

A by-product of quilting is fabric scraps.  It goes without saying that if we cut up fabrics to make something, there will be leftover scraps.  It would be a shame to throw them away now, wouldn’t it??  We have to make use of them and not waste them.

I have a huge collection of fabric scraps.  They are in stacking drawers and plastic boxes.  I have divided them by colour to help when looking for just the right piece for a project.  However, I would like to make more use of them than just that.  For example, I dream of making an entire quilt out of scrap fabrics.  How economical that would be!  Unfortunately, up to now I have not been able to accomplish this.

The Quilting Contessa at the Quilting Hub has some fabulous ideas of what to do with fabric scraps.  Read about them in this article.  Which suggestion appeals to you the most?
