We cannot understate the importance of the colour red in quilting. Red is often the anchor colour in traditional Log Cabin Quilts For example, it is often the colour of the centre square. Red and White quilts, as in the photo above, are very popular. They are in a category of their own. Historically, however, it was not always easy to find red fabric that did not fade.
