For example, what temperature should you use?ย Furthermore, what if the colours run?ย Equally important, what if the quilt shrinks?ย You are afraid of ruining your new quilt!ย
If the person who gifted you the quilt made it, you could ask him or her for advice.ย On the other hand, if it was a purchased quilt, it might have a care label attached.ย ย
When I make a quilt either for gifting or for selling, I always wash it first.ย I want to be sure that the colours won’t run or that seams won’t come apart (highly unlikely).ย
Still, when you are about to put your new quilt into your washing machine, you don’t want to be stressed about it.ย
