Happy New Year! I hope you have had very happy holidays with family and friends and that you have made some wonderful new memories. Another year has come to an end, and I hope 2026 brings much happiness for you and your family.

Thank you very much to those subscribers who took advantage of the 10% off offer in last month's newsletter. After some down time over the holidays, I am now currently busy going through my fabrics and deciding on what new items to make next. Some categories in the Shop are definitely low on stock! Due to the break over the holidays, I have not yet had time to make anything new. However, before that, I have also several longarm jobs to do and have decided to dedicate some time to those as well. It's not surprising at all that some of these masterpieces are made by men. Landscape designer Dan Rouse's work is an example of the creativity that can be achieved in quilting.

In this month's "Grandma's Corner" story, the writer remembers Christmas when she was a child and how Grandma was an important participant in the celebrations. Her old-fashioned wisdom and creativity helped to make every Christmas a happy one for the author and her siblings. Grandma managed to create a special feeling every year which embodied the true spirit of the real riches of the holiday.

Sewing Gloves
|
|
Quilting gloves are often worn by quilters when sewing together the layers of a quilt. They assist in providing a firm grip on the quilt to prevent slippage and ensure greater precision when quilting out the stitched design. They are specially designed to provide traction and control while working with fabric. They can be purchased at any sewing/quilting shop. And they're not just for quilting. They can be worn whenever you sew, as explained by Allison Aller in this short video. I'm wearing a pair of quilting gloves in the photo below.

I am taking a break from my regular quilting routine at the moment because I have several longarm jobs to do. After finishing each quilt and removing it from the longarm machine, I will square it up and then staystitch all around it to prevent the threads from coming loose until the quilter can bind it. Please see further below for photos.

There are currently five longarm jobs lined up to do. The first one is loaded onto the frame and ready to go. This is a 'twin' of one I did previously for this quilter, but I forgot to take a finished photo of it!
