The Women’s Encyclopedia Exhibit

the Women's Encyclopedia Exhibit

The Women’s Encyclopedia Exhibit at the International Quilt Festival 2023 was very special indeed.  Handi Quilter National Educator Mary Beth Krapil reports on this display by Galla Grotto.

Undoubtedly, this was a very special attraction at the International Quilt Festival in Houston this year.  In brief, Grotto reinterprets myths, images and symbols of different cultural traditions throughout the world.  Surely, the piecing, colours and texture used by this French quilting artist to portray female images will impress you.

To this end, you can read Mary Beth’s blog about the Women’s Encyclopedia Exhibit on the Handi Quilter website Here you will also be able to see some of Grotto’s fantastic interpretive quilts.
